The Jerome Classic is Canada’s stage for track and field. The home of where racing legends find flight, this annual event in June has hosted Olympic athletes such as Damien Warner, Andre de Grasse, Melissa Bishop, Evan Dunfee and others. Inspired by Olympian Harry Jerome, the Jerome Classic is where speed reigns and strength launches athletes into motion.
Events
The Jerome Classic is Canada’s best track and field event, first held in 1964, titled as the ‘The International Olympic Preview’, and held annually since 1984. As a true track and field Classic, events include track sprints, hurdles, middle distances, jumps and throws. In addition, the event hosts a Special Olympics 100m and Youth Relays.

Who to Watch
Sunday features Discus and Hammer Throw. This year’s field is so strong, the event had to be held at McLeod Athletic Park to accommodate the distance these world-class athletes will throw. Watch new 2024 NCAA champion Rowan Hamilton and ’23 NCAA champ Stephanie Ratcliffe, also the Australian Record Holder, plus Joy McArthur, Japanese National Record Holder, Nayoka Clunis, Jamaican Record Holder, Vanessa Sterckendries, Belgian National Record, Jillian Weir, Commonwealth Games medalist, Kaila Butler, Pan-Am Games Medalist, and Erica Belvit, Central American and Caribbean medalist. Everyone is invited to this event with entry by donation.

Saturday was an epic night at the Jerome Classic with four Meet records set by stars Kieran Lumb, 1500m in 3:34.53, Thomas Fafard, 3000m in 7:41.20, Gabriela DeBues-Stafford, 5000m in 15:17.48, plus Rajindra Campbell with a 21.54m shot put. View this year’s Results.
Overall, this year’s Jerome Classic also welcomes athletes from more than 35 countries.
The event is celebrating 60 years of history.
