Top Athletes Break Records at the 2025 Jerome Classic
On July 15, 2025, at Swangard Stadium, spectators witness Track and Field national and meet records being broken by the world’s top Track & Field athletes in front of their eyes. Here are all the records that were broken this year at the 2025 Jerome Classic.
Max Davies breaks U23 National Record in the 1500m
Max Davies from Toronto runs a time of 3:35.04 in the 1500m event at the Jerome Classic. At only 21 years old, Davies breaks the previous U23 record form the now-retired track and field athlete, Graham Hood. The previous record was set 33 years ago on July 15, 1992, with a time of 3:35.27.
De’vion Wilson sets new Jerome Classic Meet Record for the 110mH
De’vion Wilson surpasses Canadian legend Mark McCoy‘s previous meet record from 1986 (13.45) by 0.01 seconds during the 2025 Jerome Classic. Wlison records time a fast 13.44 to secure the win.
Olympians, Evan Dunfee and Olivia Lundman, and Rising Star, Maya Piesik, Break National Records
The 3000m Race Walk made its debut for the first time at the 2025 Jerome Classic and with it, three national records were broken. Evan Dunfee broke his own previous record by over five seconds with a time of 11:02.07. His mentee and Olympic teammate, Olivia Lundman, also prevails with a triumphant national record in the U23 category with a time of 12:56.26. The previous record belonged to Tina Poitras who clocked 12:57.94 back in 1992. Last but not least, Maya Piesik breaks Lundman’s U18 record (14:25.74) with a time of 14:21.83.
Canadian Excellence in Women’s Shotput: Sarah Mitton Breaks Meet Record, plus new National Records for Para and Seated Divisions
Sarah Mitton showcases her strength by smashing the previous meet record this year with a mark of 20.14m. The previous meet record was also set by Mitton with a mark of 19.83 in 2023. Charlotte Bolton still maintains all three Canadian records in the F41 (Para) throwing events, and she breaks her own shot put record (9.05) with a throw of 9.62m. With this event, Julia Hanes has now also broken her own Canadian record four times with a new mark of 7.52m in the F33 (Para Wheelchair) category.

Max Davies bat le record national U23 du 1500 m

- Evan Dunfee bat son propre record précédent de plus de cinq secondes avec un temps de 11:02,07.
- Sa protégée et coéquipière olympique, Olivia Lundman, établit également un record national U23 avec un temps de 12:56,26, battant l’ancien record de Tina Poitras (12:57,94 en 1992).
- Enfin, Maya Piesik, jeune étoile montante, bat le record U18 de Lundman (14:25,74) avec un temps de 14:21,83.
L’excellence canadienne au lancer du poids féminin : Sarah Mitton bat le record du meeting, nouveaux records nationaux en Para et catégories assises
Sarah Mitton a démontré sa puissance en améliorant le record du meeting avec un jet de 20,14 m. Son précédent record du meeting était également de Mitton, avec 19,83 m en 2023.
Dans les épreuves Para, Charlotte Bolton conserve ses trois records canadiens dans la catégorie F41 et bat son propre record au lancer du poids assis avec un jet de 9,62 m (ancien record 9,05 m).
Avec cette épreuve, Julia Hanes a également battu son propre record canadien pour la quatrième fois, atteignant 7,52 m dans la catégorie F33 (fauteuil roulant).
