Rising Star: SFU’s Marie‑Éloïse Leclair Gears Up for the Women’s 200 m at the Jerome Classic 2025

Leclair, a Health Sciences student with a minor in Indigenous Studies, is one of Canada’s rising sprint stars. She’s a two-time recipient of the Clement Scholarship (2024, 2025) – a testament to her leadership, community volunteerism, and on‑track success. Leclair was also recently named Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Female Athlete of the Year after breaking multiple conference records in the 60m, 100m, and 200m.
In 2024, Leclair helped Canada qualify for the Paris Olympics in the women’s 4x100m relay and contributed to a national record in the final. Now back on home soil, she’ll line up against top international talent in the W 200m at the Jerome Classic.
With a season-best of 23.17 s outdoors and a sharp indoor campaign, she’s poised for another breakthrough.
