Elite 100m Sprinters Who Made Their Mark at the Jerome Classic

 

 

The 100-metre event at The Jerome Classic has served as an elite track and field event for some of the world’s fastest athletes. Named after Canadian sprinting icon Harry Jerome, the meet has consistently drawn top-tier men and women sprinters.

Here are some of the meet’s most famous 100m elites:

Donovan Bailey

Yes, the Donovan Bailey, performed at the Jerome Classic and he still holds the fastest 100m record ever recorded at a meet with a time of 9.99 seconds in 1997.

Andre De Grasse

De Grasse competed and won the Jerome Classic in both 2016 and 2017. His fastest time is 10.17 seconds recorded in 2017.

Aaron Brown

Brown won the Jerome Classic 100m title in 2019 with a time of 10.30 seconds. As part of Canada’s 4×100 m relay team, he is a 2024 Olympic gold medalist, 2020 Olympic silver medalist, 2016 Olympic bronze medalist and the 2022 World champion.

Jerome Blake

Another member of the Canadian 4 × 100 m relay team, Blake is a 2024 Olympic gold medallist, 2020 Olympic silver medallist and the 2022 World champion. In 2018, Blake finished in 10.35 seconds in 2018.

Kristina Knott

The Philippine national record holder for the women’s 100 meters and women’s 200 meters races won the Jerome Classic with a time of 11.64 in 2024.

Audrey LeDuc

Canadian sprinter LeDuc holds the Canadian records in the 100 m (10.95 seconds) and 200 m (22.36 seconds), and the 2022 Jerome Classic Record at 11.71 seconds.
